Challenge
Mr. A contacted us about having issues with drafts in his home and noticed this past winter that his home got very cold. He wanted someone to come to his home and perform an assessment to figure out what is causing this problem. After our specialist Ryan did a thorough walk-through of Mr. A home, Ryan determined that Mr. A was losing a lot of heat through his attic space and it wasn't sealed properly so it was causing drafts in the home as well.
Solution
Our expert install team started by air sealing all the air leaks that were in this attic space. Then they duct sealed the ducts in the mechanical system in the attic so it was working efficiently. After that was done, the crew added can light covers over all the lights and sealed them so no air can get through to the rest of the house. Finally, the crew blew in 14" of cellulose insulation to the optimum R-value of R49. Now the customer's home is less drafty, comfortable, and more efficient.
