One of the projects the Triple H crew had to do in Deer Park, NY is to spray foam the rim joist in the basement. Uninsulated rim joist is a major source of heat loss in many homes. Insulating the rim joists is one of the best things you can do to make your home more energy efficient. The Triple H crew uses spray foam on the rim joist and over sill plates to seal all air leaks. This will help lower heating costs and save money, as well as making your home more comfortable.
A poorly insulated crawl space in Brentwood, NY was causing condensation, mold, rot, pests and odors, as well as cold floors above and drafts leading to an uncomfortable home. Triple H insulated the walls of this crawl space with closed cell spray foam from the bottom of the walls, over the sill plate, and to the top of the rim joists. With the newly added insulation this home should result in less humidity, much warmer floors and over all a more comfortable home.
This customer from Bay Shore was having issues with his home being too cold and drafty. After an evaluation, one of the recommendations was to spray foam his Rim Joist. The Rim Joist is the perimeter of the floor framing system along the exterior of the house. Without it being sealed or insulated, it causes cold floors, drafty, uncomfortable rooms, and a cold basement. Triple H went in and installed two part expanding spray foam on the Rim Joist and over the sill plate to seal all air leaks from the outside and insulate this important area. Dr. Energy Saver’s spray foam expands and seals all cracks and caps where the air was getting in. Now the customer should experience warmer floors, less drafts, and overall a more comfortable home.
The wood floors in the house above this between-floor cantilever (overhang) were always cold in the winter until Triple H spray foamed under the cantilever. Each bay was completely empty an uninsulated when we opened it up. There was good reason for the floors to be cold. Cold air was also getting in the house, mixing with the warmer conditioned air making it more difficult to heat and keep an even, comfortable temperature.
The floors are now are as warm as in the rest of the house. Spray foam both insulates and air seals and will also keep the cool, conditioned air in the home in the summer.
This bedroom in St. James will be much more comfortable now that Triple H has sealed and insulated the exterior walls with spray foam.
The customer had recently purchased the home and prior to moving in took the opportunity to remove the sheet rock and spray foam all the exterior walls because he wanted the best insulation to ensure year round comfort and reduced energy bills.
