This customer in Huntington was aware that his home may need more insulation. He requested that Triple H come to the home and assess the insulation. At this time it was suggested that he could benefit from SilverGlo insulation in his knee wall. SilverGlo is a high R-Value, graphite-infused insulation foam board, lined with radiant foil that reflects the sun's heat away from the home during the summer, and maintains the heat during the winter. By using SilverGlo, the homeowner will no longer feel the effects of hot and cold air penetrating the room.
This homeowner in Huntington, NY reached out to us hoping to get his attic insulated. When our Home Comfort Specialist Ryan came out to the home, he noted that the attic space was insulated with old batt insulation. It was unfortunately not air sealed. This explained the issues that the homeowner was having with uneven temperatures throughout the home. The solution Ryan came up with for this customer was we would remove the old batt insulation from the attic. From there we would air seal all penetrations to prevent any air leaking coming in or out of the home. Then we would add new blow in cellulose insulation, while keeping a catwalk space for the homeowner to have easy access. Now, this homeowner has a properly insulated attic!
Triple H Insulation air sealed this attic space from any penetrations that caused any air leakage in the home. Then add 10" cellulose insulation to reach the appropriate R-value of R-49.
To help this customer in West Islip, NY experience a more comfortable home all year long, Triple H insulated this attic space with 14" of blown in cellulose insulation and air sealed all air leaks in the attic to prevent drafts. The home now stays cool in summer and warm in the winter.
A resident of Smithtown was having some comfort issues in their house, causing it to be cold all the time in there daughters room and main den. After an evaluation it was determined that they would benefit from adding in new attic insulation. Triple H went in and air sealed all the air leaks in the attic, as well as sealed all the ducts in the home. If you have air leaks in the ducts, the rooms farther away from the air handler will not heat or cool as well, so it’s recommended to do this. Next, they installed baffles (air chutes) in each rafter bay to keep soffit vents clear and prepare for insulation. They then blew in 10” of cellulose insulation, resulting in a warmer, more comfortable home with lower fuel and electric bills.
